Programs and Events for January at the Children’s Museum

 

The Children’s Museum has activities and workshops planned for children of all ages. Please join us for these fun activities!

 

Saturday, December 31: New Year’s Eve                                              

The museum will be closed. Happy New Year!

 

Monday, January 2: Snowman Workshop

Make a snowman using paper plates and construction paper. Classes begin at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and are limited to 20 children, ages 4 and up.

 

Tuesday, January 3: Snow Globe Workshop

Create a snow globe. Class begins at 11:30 a.m. and is limited to 20 children, ages 3 and up.

 

Saturday, January 7: Kids Choice

This is a workshop to use extra projects that were leftovers from previous workshops and weekly projects. Projects will be available from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. on a first-come first-served basis. Limit one project per child.

 

Saturday, January 14: Sasol’s Second Saturday Science Show

Sasol continues its 5S Project with “Liquid Nitrogen Isn’t Just Cool… Its Freezing” program at 11:30 a.m. Kyle Brunner, Craig Mercy, and Rose Lavergne will have several hands-on demonstrations that involve freezing objects and pressure.

 

Monday, January 16: Diversity Wreath

Create a diversity wreath in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Classes begin at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and are limited to 20 children, ages 3 and up.

 

Saturday, January 28: Chinese New Year Dragon

Make a colorful dragon to celebrate Chinese New Year! Classes begin at 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. and are limited to 20 children, ages 3 and up.

 

The Children’s Museum provides a safe and educational place to explore, learn, play and imagine while encouraging curiosity and creativity through hands-on programs and exhibits. The Children's Museum is located at 327 Broad Street downtown Lake Charles. Museum hours are from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Admission is $8.50 for children and adults.
